Great day in memory of a truly remarkable man

Thank you everyone for your fantastic support yesterday at the Micky Richards Memorial Darts Comp. It was great to see such a large entry and so good to be able to finally host a completion today.

Many thanks to Jane Summers & Ray for hosting us and everyone who helped out with bar and food. Huge thanks to Kerry Renshaw & Mrs-Ox Claire Clackson for keeping the administration running smoothly on what was a fast and furious long day. Stewart Clackson and everyone involved in helping set up and clear up the equipment.

Congratulations to all players involved, winner Arron Monk, runner up Darren Large, semi finalists Ben Simpson & Clive Drinkwater, quarter finalists Barry Turner, Kev Parsons, Simon Coxhead & Graham Howard.

A great day in memory of a truly remarkable man who gave many years to Andover Darts and it was great to see Chrissie, Jackie Nicholls and Steve Richards at the event.

Finals Night 2016

Congratulations to all the winners at last nights finals. The evening was a big success, the venue was nicely prepared by the Central Club and was great to have a large crowd cheering on the finalists.

In the Mens Singles both Shane Reidy and Jamie Kelling reached the final without dropping a leg. In the final Jamie Kelling beat Shane Reidy to be crowned Andover Mens Champion. Shane proved to be a strong competitor hitting 2 180’s.

It was an extremely close match in the Ladies Singles with Harriet Raynsford coming from behind to win 4-3 against Fran Elwick.

It was a mixed game in the Pairs final with some excellent darts thrown but also a lot of doubles missed. In the first leg Martin Hopper opened with a 180 and then he and his partner Barry Bowsher were on a double in 13 darts. However it was Jamie Kelling and Ben Simpson that proved too strong for Martin Hopper & Barry Bowsher winning 4-2.

The Triples competition concluded with Enham Loyals crowned champions beating Team Street 3-1 on the night.

Thank you to the venue for contributing to a great evening and the committee for yet another successful season; especially Graham Howard for all the hard work he puts in each and every week.

Andy Deavall regains Captains Cup

A good turnout at the Captains Cup saw thoroughly deserved winner, Andy Deavall, score heavily in the final including a 180 and 2 x 140. Finishing well, Andy beat Graham Howard with 17, 19 and 20 dart legs achieving a 26.84 average per dart.

Graham had no complaints being beaten by the better player on the day. Graham himself beat last year’s winner, Andy Harvey, 3-2 in the semi final. Andy Deavall beat Barry Turner 3-0 in the 2nd semi final.
